An exclusive look at the launch of Anima Issue 4 and the Flos Nocturne Collection

During Salone del Mobile 2026, we gathered at the Flos Professional Space in Milan for the launch of Anima Issue 4 and the Flos Nocturne Collection. We celebrated with a talk hosted by Deyan Sudjic, who spoke to Piero Gandini – Flos B&B Italia Group executive chairman – and German industrial designer Konstantin Grcic about the changes shaping the lighting industry today.

Reflecting on the publication itself, Sudjic described Anima as “in some ways a very old-fashioned concept… aggressively analogue”, a project rooted in materiality and print culture, and part of a longer personal history with magazines. For Grcic, the conversation turned more personal, recalling the moment he first imagined a life in design: “I thought, being a designer is something you can do all your life and be happy.” Gandini, meanwhile, touched on Flos’ ongoing dialogue between craft and innovation, describing a push “to put professional optics into what is normally called decorative or environmental lamps”, as part of a broader fusion between industry and technology that continues to shape the company’s approach.

Thanks to everyone who attended and to all the friends and contributors who made this issue a special one. View the full set of imagery below.
