Poliform is moving its flagship store in Milan from the ground floor of the Palazzo del Popolo d’Italia designed by Giovanni Muzio to a new and even more impressive home adjacent to La Scala opera house and across the street from The Galleria. Originally designed as a lavishly appointed apartment building in 1876, Poliform has commissioned Stefano Belingardi Clusoni to convert the building into an environment that will reflect the essence of the brand.
The new Poliform space will highlight the company’s long collaboration with Jean-Marie Massaud. Massaud describes the relationship as a sustained creative dialogue. “I see this long-term relationship as a space of mutual trust, where I can explore new ideas while respecting Poliform’s design philosophy, ensuring each project builds on a cohesive narrative across the brand’s collections.”
Joan is the tenth in a series of seating systems. Its careful fabric detailing is inspired by the traditions of couture tailoring. “While the collaboration always involves an exchange of ideas and feedback, the concept for Joan came from my personal exploration of form, comfort and modularity. I envisioned a sofa that could merge architectural precision with relaxed domestic comfort, translating this vision into a flexible system that still resonates with Poliform’s aesthetic.”
